Sending Supplemental Information Requests

Learn how to send supplemental information requests (IRs) to the company before they have responded to IRs you have already sent.

About this task

SES allows you to send a supplemental IR to the company after an IR has been sent, but before they have responded. You can use this feature to provide clarification or request additional information related to the initial IR that was sent to the company.
Note: While examiners can add information requests to the SA, only staff users from the lead agency assigned as a participant on the SA and the examiner in charge (EIC) can send them to the company.

If you are conducting an investigation, the core and non-core designation for IRs is not automatically added.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to your supervisory activity.

    Supervisory Activities button on the Main Menu
  2. Click Information Requests.
    Menu: Information Requests option
  3. Click the hyperlinked number in the Sent to Company column on the Area for Review Summary.
  4. In the IR Details table, under the Actions column, select for the desired information request to show the list of available actions.
  5. Select Add Supplemental IR.
  6. Complete the Supplemental IR field and upload any relevant documents.
  7. Click the Add Supplemental IR button.

Results

The previously sent IR is highlighted with a supplemental IR icon for the company and the information you entered in the Supplemental IR field is displayed when the company reviews the IR.
